Josie Loren had her own drama as a gymnast growing up, now she gets to relive the same struggles on her TV show, Make It or Break It!

Josie Loren is best known for her moves on the ABC Family teen drama Make It or Break It, but Josie wasn’t always so nimble! HollywoodLife.com caught up with the actress at the opening of Cardio Barre in Hollywood Oct. 7 and dished about her gymnast-turned-cheerleader past and how her character, Kaylie, is recuperating from an eating disorder.

Here are Six Things You Never Knew About Josie Loren!

  • I was a gymnast when I was little and unfortunately, I was only good at the floor. So I became a competitive cheerleader and I was a tumbler.
  • I loved watching the U.S. Olympic [gymnastics] team compete because Nastia [Liukin] has become one of our good friends. I’m going to her birthday party in a couple of weeks.
  • Unfortunately, I’ve known way too many girls with eating disorders. Even now as Kaylie’s in the healing process it’s emotionally exhausting and mentally exhausting to play her..
  • I have five classes left at UCLA. I’m a super senior, mass media communications major and I NEED to graduate.
  • I’m going to New York City for Thanksgiving to visit with friends.
  • My high school [in Miami] was a magnet school for the arts, and we won Critic’s Choice for Musical Theater Number in “A Chorus Line” in the state thespian competition.
